Reading in English as a foreign language

Abstract

Extensive Reading is a strategy in foreign language acquisition that relies on large amounts of free-voluntary reading. It claims to facilitate the acquisition and learning of vocabulary and motivation as well as other positive affective benefits such as self-esteem, intercultural and social learning.
